We look at how changing perceptions of ‘the real world’ are influencing different approaches to curriculum design and school management.

Phil Ford reports from Glasgow about START! an innovative approach to curriculum which combines a new S6 (Y13/G12) Pre-U syllabus with a Dragons’ Den style pitching competition. Cinde Lock sets curriculum design in the context of community problem-solving and Richard Human presents the case for an AI Lead in all schools.

Matthew Savage and Paul Swanson reflect on the first season of their podcast, Data Talks  Suzanne Rodgers examines different approaches to progression for Art and Design courses and Kushal Kundamal reminds us that millenials search for their children’s new school in their own distinctive way. 

Rachael Harman tells the story of how parents breathed new life into the tradition of  independent eduation in South Wales and there is news of an EU initiative to link schools and teachers.

Finally with the IPSEF Global conference coming up, Mandy Edmond and Andrew Elias look at partnered British international Nursery education.
