DEVELOPING THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE
Over the last decade, IPSEF has established itself as one of the most useful – if not most essential – London-based conferences for independent schools in the UK.  Why is that? Perhaps because at a time of such enormous challenges to independent education in the UK it’s good just to take time out at a well-organised gathering to focus on what other people have to say. But if it were just that, it would be no different from any of the other great conferences that take place all over the country.
So, what makes IPSEF especially relevant?
Just this. If a school’s strategy aims to generate additional income and includes the possibility of finding partners for an international project, there is no better opportunity in the UK-conference year for meeting and listening to so many international experts from the sector: the speakers and their very different perspectives make IPSEF so valuable.

The important thing is to make well-informed decisions about committing to an international search.
The whole enterprise of starting a new school overseas is not easy and, it has to be said, will not be for everyone. There is more frustration than joy for many in the search for the right partner. But whether you are only just now considering an international initiative or are well down the route, time spent focusing on this issue for a day at a conference like this is time well-spent. The important thing is to make well-informed decisions about committing to or extending an international search.
And setting your pitch to prospective partners into the right context is essential. Knowing what you have to offer (some of which might be surprising) and then matching it to what a partner might want, involves developing new perspectives and taking on new knowledge. And wherever you are on your journey to find new revenue, this is what IPSEF is all about.
