MICK SMITH
Senior consultant, secondary international education
Having trained and taught in the UK, Mick began his outstanding career as an international teacher in 1997 when he moved to Tanzania as the Head of the Social Studies Faculty at the International School of Tanganyika.
After being recruited to Bangkok Patana School in 2002, he served as Head of Year and IB Diploma Coordinator before his appointment as Secondary Principal in 2007. As Principal he was responsible for over 1,000 students and 115 teaching staff, and held the position until returning to the UK in 2020. He joined Consilium Education in 2022 as a Senior Consultant, specialising in the development and leadership of secondary international education.
Mick holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management from the Institute of Education in London.
He is a fully trained Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation visitor and his special areas of expertise include
