Andy Homden and Richard Gaskell’s  (ISC Research) joint workshop at the 2019 APAC conference in Bangkok looked at the latest developments in the Asia Pacific Market, focusing on the conception, set up and operation of an international school in this region. This whole morning seminar examined:

Sustainable schools: Paul Cabrelli at the COBIS Conference for Business & HR leaders

Paul Cabrelli was keynote speaker on the first day of the COBIS conference for School Business and HR leaders in February at St. Julian’s school in Lisbon. Speaking on the subject of sustainability in schools, he emphasised the importance of the business office working in close collaboration with academic staff, pointing out the significance of the relationship between the business manager to achieve sustainability in both an environmental and financial sense.

Connecting Teachers Conference at the Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College

Organised jointly with Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College, and hosted by Elly Tobin, College Principal and Consilium consultant, this was Consilium Education’s inaugural conference. Delegates enjoyed two lively days of networking and teacher-led workshops, with keynote speakers Professor Mick Waters, Sir Tim Brighouse, Teacher Toolkit founder, Ross McGinnis and social philosopher Roman Krznaric, getting each session underway with a series of thought provoking and inspiring talks. Consilium Education’s Peter Hudson was also in demand as a speaker on the subject of listening for school leaders and teachers.

Going global: Andy Homden at the Said Business School, Oxford, 2017

Andy Homden was guest speaker in April at the ISC Seminar held at the Said Business School in Oxford for Educational Suppliers. Speaking about the use of Social Media to reach Educational Markets, he drew on the experience of Consilium Education’s work pioneering new ways of using Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to reach specific audiences within the international teaching community. Andy also spoke at GESS Dubai, 2017, looking at the importance of explicit language development to encourage analytical thinking and independent learning.
