The Teaching Council of Ireland held their annual Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence otherwise known as Féilte at the RDS on October 3, during which Andy Homden spoke at the Féilte TeachMeet session.

Féilte is a major event in the Irish education calendar, attended by over 800 delegates. Keynote speakers included the Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan, Psychologist Maureen Gaffney and inspirational speaker Mark Pollock. The RDS halls showcased a wide range of educational innovation and talent that explain why Irish teachers are held in such high esteem around the world. The Féilte TeachMeet and ResearchMeet sessions were held in the august and entirely appropriate setting of the RDS Library. In the TeachMeet session, which challenges speakers to deliver a full set of ideas in Nanno (2 minute) or Macro (5 minute) formats, Andy spoke on the subject of “How to excel at School and then leave successfully”.
