Create a woodland grove and a bear cave reading den. Make your own sensory story box and retell the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears as you walk along a storytelling pathway. Who broke the chair? ……..was it really Goldilocks? Have a look at recommended bear picture books, watch footage of real bears and involve bears in your maths activities. Lots of bear rhymes and songs to teach your children and free resources to download to enhance writing activities.

Bears in the Early Year: PART B

Anyone for porridge? Ideas for STEM activities based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Wash clothes for the bears or catch fish in the water tray, decant oats in sand tray or search for little bears, spoons and bowls. Create an environment for brown bears or polar bears in the tuff spot. A sticky wall for the very young and a nature scavenger hunt to get everyone outdoors or how about laying a trail to the Teddy Bear’s Picnic? Great ideas for themed food to make and games to play to end the day.

Bertie Bear:

Ideas to use Bertie or any soft toy to orientate your children around school and meet any new teachers they may have for PE or music. Visit the school library, the principal’s office and find Bertie with a bandaged arm at the school clinic!
