Consilium at Educational Investment Conference, Dubai, November 2014
Consilium Education consultants, Andy Homden and Paul Cabrelli were seminar leaders at the MENA Educational Investment Conference held at the Dubai Mall Address Hotel from November 10 to 14 2014.
Speaking on the subject of school start-ups, Paul & Andy drew on their experience of major new school projects around the world. Most recently Andy supervised the foundation of Jumeira Baccalaureate School, which grew rapidly from a small primary school of 90 students in September 2010 to a thriving PK – 12 school of 860 students four years later.
Paul advised Wellington College, Berkshire, as it established two schools in China and was formerly Business Director at the Chinese International School (Hong Kong) and the United Nations International School (New York). Andy & Paul combine their specialist expertise to offer new insight into the process of starting a school, suggesting that to be successful leaders must think carefully about three distinct phases: Conception, Feasibility and Implementation. As each phase requires different thinking, leaders must recognise when the project is passing from one phase to the next and act accordingly.
